Take Back The Night with New Directions Center
Join New Directions Center for their Virtual Take Back The Night, Thursday April 22nd at 7pm. This is a night where the community takes back the night and takes a stand against sexual assault. The event will be premiered live on New Directions’ Facebook page and on their website. The event will include stories from survivors, speakers, poetry, and music. John Bell exhibit “Time of Memory” at CoArt Gallery
CoArt Gallery is featuring artist John Bell and his exhibit, Time of Memory until April 30th. The paintings are in oil and acrylic. These works represent his exploration of the Scottish mainland and the Orkney and Outer Hebrides Islands. The stone circles, standing stones, tombs, and dwellings depicted remain as vital reminders of elemental existence and serve as testaments of the human desire to survive, to understand, and to connect with the cosmos. The Wizard of Oz at Wayne Theatre
Wayne Theatre will be performing The Wizard of Oz from April 30th to May 2nd. There will be in-house performances and lived streamed performances. Swoope Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a Lemonade Stand and Community Yard Sale Saturday, April 17th from 7am to 2pm. Enjoy different yard sale tables while you sip on some lemonade. Park to Park Half Marathon
The 13th Annual Park to Park Half Marathon will be Saturday, April 24th from 7am to 1pm at Ridgeview Park and War Memorial Pool. This event is limited to 400 in-person participants, but there will be a virtual option offered. Runners will be staggered with their start times to maintain social distancing. Camp LIGHT Clean Up Day
Camp LIGHT’s clean up day is Saturday April 3rd from 8am to 5pm at Camp LIGHT. Camp LIGHT is sprucing up the campground. You can sign up for shifts for 2 hours, a half day, or all day. Projects will focus on cleaning, organizing, painting, landscaping, and more! Camp LIGHT is a summer camp that helps kids with special needs and at risk youth. The 14th Annual 5k Walk and Run for Autism
Join Shenandoah Valley Autism Partnership for The 14th Annual 5k Walk and Run for Autism. This event is Saturday, April 3rd to Saturday, April 10th. This event will be held remotely and is self paced. Choose your favorite path or trail to run or walk during the week of the event. Funds raised from the 5k will go to helping and supporting individuals with Autism.
