Joan of Arc Blues – Live Music Jam

The Central Virginia Blues Society will return to live music in 2021 this Sunday on the lawn at Barren Ridge Winery. The outstanding and talented membership of CVBS will present four hours of blues, jazz, r&b, and blues-influenced music for everyone to enjoy. The host band, saxophonist supreme Alan Ponton and Friends, will kick this inaugural event with a mix of jazz and blues, and features Randy Johnson on guitar. Sets throughout the afternoon will feature a variety of CVBS musicians, and as is the standing policy for our jams, non-member musicians are invited to come out and join the society, and join the Jam! And if you get hungry and thirsty during the show, you can enjoy Barren Ridge’s award-winning wines and food from Lovin’ Crab Food Truck featuring some of the best crab cakes in the Shenandoah Valley.

Join the Staunton Augusta Art Center and Beverley Street Studio School for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Artmobile on Saturday, May 29th from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, May 30th from 10am to 2pm. This event will be at the Sunspots Pavilion. The featured exhibit is A View from Home: Landscapes of Virginia. This traveling museum showcases art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Central Virginia’s Stable Craft Brewing at Hermitage Hill, an authentic working farm brewery and winery, will feature a full weekend of activities during Memorial Day weekend starting on Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31, 2021. The fun starts during their Friday Night Love series with the releases of Stable Craft Brewing’s Rocketpop cider on Friday, May 28. On Saturday, May 29, Stable Craft Brewing will feature Summer games including a Cornhole Golf tournament at 1:00 pm, Wheelbarrow Races, Hula Hoop contest at 3:00 pm, Giant Beer Pong and live music with the Cherry Red Duo starting at 2:00 pm. Hot Air Balloon Rides will be available on a first come first serve basis on Sunday, May 30th from 2:00-4:00 pm. Stacey DeHaven Memorial 5k and Fun Run

The 3rd Annual Stacey DeHaven Memorial 5k and Fun Run will be Saturday, May 22nd at Gypsy Hill Park. Race packets will be available for pick up Friday, May 21st between 4pm and 6pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 9:30am. The Fun Run will begin at 9:30am and the 5k begins at 10am. Trophies and door prizes will be given out after the race. All proceeds from the race will go to the Stacey DeHaven Memorial Fund to support higher education through college scholarships.
