Apples to Apples: Wise Women empower Women

Join Meditation in Motion Massage on Saturday, October 2nd from 11-3 for 4 hour Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising event. All financial donations will be given to the Augusta Health Bridge Fund. Local music will be featured at both the Sunspots Pavillon stage and Cider from Mars. The Judy Chops, DJ Bristol of New York aka Paul Tucker, Crysta Bliss, Jessica Young, and Bagpiper Kathy Boyer. Sarabeth Johnson will teach easy yoga stretches and Eleanor Rixey will provide a shorter Zumba Class to illustrate concepts for Self Care. Breast Cancer stories will be shared by Gerry Stowers, Local Artist Juliette Swenson, and Gerry’s sister June Parina. Oktoberfest at Skipping Rock Beer Company

Skipping Rock Beer Company will be holding their third annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, October 2nd from 12pm to 10pm. There will be live music by Mandacyn and The Southern Ghost and food by Shedders BBQ. In addition, there will be a flower crown workshop, a stein-holding competition, and axe throwing. There will also be pumpkin painting and s’mores for the kids and a dog costume contest! Fishersville Antiques Expo

The Fishersville Antiques Expo will be Friday, October 8th to Saturday, October 9th at the Augusta County Expo Center. The antique expo starts at 9am and ends at 5pm. With over 300 antiques and vintage dealers, this is one of the largest indoor/outdoor antiques markets in the Mid-Atlantic. 59th Annual Churchville Dog Show

Hosted by the Churchville Ruritan Club. Show held on the baseball field next to Churchville Elementary School (parking readily available). Fun event for entire family.  16 classes with awards for top four in each class.  Two Best of Show prizes. Classes for every kind and age dog and handler. Concession Stand will be open for dinner, drinks, and dessert. Raffle with four prizes, drawing near the end of the event (do not have to be present to win). Old Crow Medicine Show will be playing at the Augusta County Expo Center on Saturday, September 18th as part of the MaDee Project’s, MadeeFest. MaDeeFest is the first fundraiser hosted by the MaDee Project. The MaDee Project is a local non-profit supporting local pediatric cancer patients and their families. MaDeeFest will also feature winners and participants from The MaDee Project’s Virginia Food Truck Battle fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the MaDee Project. The City of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County are holding their yearly Household Hazardous Waste Day at the Augusta County Government Center, Saturday, September 18th from 8:30am to 12pm. Bring in used oil, anti-freeze, gas, solvents, acids, and more. Make sure items are in one specific area of the car and clearly marked.
