Annual Turkey Trot 5k
The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center is holding their 10th Annual Turkey Trot 5k on Thursday, November 25th from 9am to 11am. This 5k will be at the golf course at the Club at Ironwood. Feel free to run, walk, or trot through the scenic course. There will also be a 1-miler offered. Day of registration and packet pickup will be from 7:30am to 8:45am, packets will be available the day before the race as well, from 4pm to 6pm. The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center is a local non-profit that works with law enforcement and Child Protective Services to provide immediate services to child abuse victims in the Greater Augusta area. Trunk or Treat
Old Dominion Realty will be holding their annual Trunk or Treat on Sunday October 31st from 2pm to 4pm at their Augusta County office on Meyers Corner in Staunton. Fall Fest at Skipping Rock Brewing
Skipping Rock Brewing will be holding their Fall Fest on Saturday, October 30th starting at 12pm. There will be axe throwing, vendors and live music by Kat & The Travelers and The Findells. In addition, there will be kids candy bags, rock painting, and a bring your own carved pumpkin contest. There will be food by Shredders BBQ. Josh Davidson at Restless Moons Brewing
Josh Davidson will be live at Restless Moons Brewing Friday, November 5th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Josh Davidson is a local artist from the Blue Ridge Mountains, who takes inspiration from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tyler Childers, and Chris Stapleton. Josh Davidson plays a wide variety of genres including country, southern rock, and blues. He will be playing both cover songs and originals. The Judy Chops at Stable Craft Brewing
The Judy Chops will be playing at Stable Craft Brewing on Friday, October 29th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The Judy Chops are a high energy swing and blues-based Americana band from the Shenandoah Valley. Staunton City Library Book Sale
The Staunton City Library will be at Gypsy Hill Park gym selling books from Tuesday, October 12th to Thursday, October 14th from 9am to 7pm and Friday, October 15th from 9am to 12pm. Books will be sold all day at this event over the four days. For more information, visit the link below.
The Loya Brothers at Newtown Baking
The Loya Brothers will be at Newtown Baking on Friday, October 22nd from 6pm to 8pm out in Newtown’s backyard. The Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad will be holding a Fall Fling on Saturday, October 16th from 8am to 3pm. There will be food, games, and craft vendors set up. Come out on Friday, October 29th from 5pm-10pm as we throw down with The Night of 1,000 Bowies! We’ll have glam rock DJ’s, food trucks, and a Bowie themed costume contest to see who can best impersonate the Starman who inspired our name and will hopefully inspire you to hunt down an old eyepatch and a pair of red overalls.
