The City of Waynesboro is holding their annual Christmas Market on Saturday, December 4th from 11am to 5:30pm followed by their Christmas Parade at 6pm in downtown Waynesboro. A Christmas Story: The Play

ShenanArts is presenting A Christmas Story The Play. Showtimes are Friday, December 3rd and 4th at 7pm and Sunday, December 5th at 3pm. Directed by Anne Fitzgerald, and based on the 1983 motion picture A Christmas Story, this follows Ralphie Parker growing up in the 1940s Midwest and his quest for a Red Ryder BB Gun. This sci-fi fantasy follows an electric lineman named Roy Neary, who’s quiet and ordinary life gets turned upside down after a close encounter with a UFO. An original play written by instructor/director Matthew Grandpre, The Trial and the Treasure is a full-length theatrical debut loosely based on the novels The Adventures of Tom Sawyer & The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn written by Mark Twain. Popular characters such as Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, Huckleberry Finn, Judge Thatcher, and Mary Jane Wilks go to court in the murder trial of Doctor Robinson. However, as iconic villains arrive, such as a disguised Injun Joe, the trial suddenly plunges into a thrilling escape plan as a revenge plot and hidden treasure are revealed. In this story within a story, plot twists abound and mysteries unfold as the characters get closer and closer to finding the real truth. Characters and audiences alike will display a full range of emotions as they interact to stop evil and learn that family is more important than all the gold in the world. All performances are FREE.
