The American Frontier Culture Foundation is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the educational programs and activities at the Frontier Culture Museum. Please consider purchasing a basket! On May 1st, beginning at 11:00 am at the Lee Cochran Pavilion at the Frontier Culture Museum, come and join us for our fundraiser, Picnic at the Museum. Reserve your picnic basket while supplies last! ✨ FAMILY BASKET: Picnic bag lunch for two adults and two children and 1 annual family pass to the Frontier Culture Museum: $150 ✨ COUPLES BASKET: Picnic bag lunch for two adults and 1 annual family pass to the Frontier Culture Museum: $125 Basket Pickup is between 11:00AM – 2:00PM Cash Bar is only from 11AM – 2:00PM You are welcome to stay after 2:00PM and enjoy your picnic until the Museum closes. Shenandoah Green’s Composting Program

Do you compost in your backyard but are reluctant to put bones, cheese or grease in your compost pile? Then bring all your household food waste to one of Shenandoah Green’s three food-waste collection sites. It will be picked up by Black Bear Composting and turned into rich, organic compost. This program is a partnership between Shenandoah Green, Black Bear Composting, and the City of Staunton. Saturdays, 9-11 a.m. at Sunspots Pavilion through the end of March Tuesdays, 9-11 a.m. and Thursdays, noon-2 p.m. at Staunton’s Recycling Center in Gypsy Hill Park (recurring)

Spend time with Mother Nature in the George Washington National Forest by visiting a Virginia Birding and Wildlife site in western Augusta County: – Braley Pond Day Use Area – Augusta Springs Wetlands Virginia Master Naturalists will be on hand at both sites to provide information, answer questions, and lead nature hikes every 15 minutes. No registration necessary. Family friendly. Everyone welcome.

DCCU Shred Day: Downtown Staunton

DCCU Shred Day: Downtown Staunton

DuPont Community Credit Union is partnering with H&R Contractors Inc. again for Shred Days! Stop by our Downtown Staunton branch between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to have your documents securely shredded for free. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. NOTE: Our Shred Days are scheduled to last until noon, however, once the shred truck is filled to capacity, additional items may no longer be accepted. Please bring no more than three (3) large trash bags filled with documents to shred.
