Camp Quest AT THE FARM
For the first time, Camp Quest and Project GROWS will join forces to host a weeklong day camp in Staunton, Va., from Aug. 1-5, 2022. The cost is $145/child. Like all Camp Quest programs, Camp Quest at the Farm will offer a fun, inclusive summer experience that challenges campers to build relationships, develop critical thinking skills and explore humanist values. Through the partnership with Project GROWS, campers will engage in activities that encourage natural discovery, offering education about nutrition and sustainable agriculture. Open to all, Camp Quest programs help campers forge lasting friendships, cultivate an inclusive worldview and return home empowered to make an impact in their own communities.
Little Wars at Oak Grove Theater
It’s the eve of the German invasion of France in WWII. Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas are hosting a small gathering in their home in the French Alps. In this imaginative “what if”, Agatha Christie, Lillian Hellman and Dorothy Parker arrive to find one more guest. Who is this unknown woman, and what is an American psychiatrist doing in France in the middle of a war?
Summer Bandstand: Jazz in the Park
Jazz in the Park is a free summer concert series featuring a variety of jazz bands. Over the years, concerts have featured Grammy-award winning artists and musicians from all over the world, including Brazil, England, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Russia and Sweden. Performances begin at 7 p.m. on Thursdays at the Gypsy Hill Park bandstand. Concerts are held rain or shine. Concessions available. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Augusta County Fair Wine Festival
Wine interest is exploding within the Shenandoah Valley and we are cordially invite you to participate in this community event at Augusta Expo in beautiful Fishersville, VA, the Heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The event will feature live music by The Goodson Band, a variety of wineries and cideries, great festival food from your favs as well as a variety of artisans and crafters and so much more! Wine tasting tickets include a souvenir glass. Pre-sale tickets are $25.00 or $30.00 at the gate. Young adults (13-20) $10.00 and designated drivers $10.00 (wine tasting not included) Admission is free for kids 12 and under.
