Hot Mamas Debut Album Release Party
Saturday, May 20th at 7:30 PM Court Square theater is hosting the Hot Mamas debut Album Release Party with opening tunes from Spectator Bird. This concert will also include a song with the winner of The Hot Mamas’ Songwriting Contest! Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Corrie Lynn Green & The Hot Mamas in concert
Corrie Lynn Green is an Appalachian Folk Singer from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She has been writing stories about her life growing up in rural Appalachia since she was young, challenging the ideas instilled by her evangelical upbringing, and education status and bringing authenticity and grit to the stage as if her life depended on it. The Hot Mamas are an all-female singer-songwriter collective that is rapidly gaining interest around the Shenandoah Valley. With instrumentation ranging from toy piano, clarinet, banjo, accordion, ukulele, washboard, dueling kazoos to amazing harmonies, The Hot Mamas not only entertain and know how to have a good time but they also captivate audiences with their depth.
Mother’s Day Brunch at the Blackburn Inn
Mothers come in all different forms and on Mother’s Day we celebrate them all! Bountiful Brunch, Mother’s Day at Hotel 24 South
Sunday, May 14th Hotel 24 South is hosting a bountiful brunch featuring Steamed & Chilled Seafood, Charcuterie, Traditional Breakfast Fare and Prime Rib and Turkey carving stations. Seating is available from 11am-2pm and reservations are required in advance. Ticket prices are $55 for Adults and Children ages 4-10 are $20. Life in the Heart Land docuseries at Visulite
Sunday, May 28th from 6-9pm Visulite Cinema is hosting the final installment of the Free series episode screenings. This Sunday the two episodes will be “Farming” and “Broadband Access” from VPMs’s eight-episode Life in the Heart Land docuseries. Each screening event is free and requires advance registration. Pre-show Tasting: As You Like It
Saturday, May 13th the American Shakespeare Center is partnering with local wineries and breweries for a special pre-show experience once a month this spring. Attendees can enjoy a tasting of some of the best libations in the area in the upper lobby of the Blackfriars Playhouse. The event will feature a lineup from Ciders From Mars with tastings at 6:30 and 7pm before the evening performance of AS YOU LIKE IT! **All participants must be 21+ years of age** Tickets are $25, which includes a limited edition souvenir glass. Battle of the First Responders Kickball Tournament
Sunday, May 7th Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad is hosting the first-ever “Battle of the First Responders,” kickball tournament. The event will be held at Gypsy Hill Park at the Kiwanis baseball fields, beginning at 10:30 AM. 10 teams will pitting against one another. An ambulance and possibly a firetruck will be parked at the event to allow children to check out the equipment and ask questions. For more information

Sunday, May 7th The Heifetz Institute presents the final installment of Hear & Now – a chamber music concert series at Mary Baldwin University. This not-to-be-missed concert features the Borromeo String Quartet. Each visionary performance strengthens and deepens its reputation as one of the most important ensembles of our time. Youth Fishing Derby at Lake Tams
Saturday, May 6th beginning at 8AM the Staunton Parks and Rec are hosting the 29th Annual Youth Fishing Derby at Lake Tams at Gypsy Hill Park. The derby is open to youth between the ages of 4-15.
