“Cut Up and Put Together” Exhibit
The Staunton Augusta Art Center kicks off the new year with a captivating exhibition, “Cut Up and Put Together,” showcasing the extraordinary collage and assemblage creations of talented artists Terri Long, Mathew Phelan, Sarah Lawson, Chris Siron, and Peter Allen.These artists bring unique perspectives to the diverse world of mixed-media art, seamlessly blending disparate elements into cohesive and thought-provoking compositions. The exhibition offers a visually stimulating and intellectually engaging experience, inviting viewers to explore the boundary-breaking realm of collage and assemblage. The exhibition runs from January 12 – February 17, 2024. There will be an opening reception on Friday, January 12 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the galleries. This is a free event and all are welcome. Staunton Underground Comics and Zine Fest
Saturday, January 20th from 11AM-5PM Good Great Ok Comics is hosting he Staunton Underground Comics and Zine Fest at Eclectic Retro. This fest is a brand new FREE event celebrating the heart and soul of independent comics, zines, and other visual storytelling.The mission is to bring together some of the best creators from across the region to one of the smallest but most creatively active cities in Virginia. Indoor Winter Farmers’ Market
The FIRST indoor Farmers’ Market of this season kicks off Saturday, January 13, 2024. Find piles of greens, fresh breads, fresh eggs, meats, treats, popcorn, hot coffee, cheeses, honey, jams, teas and much more! Winter Farmers’ Market is EVERY Saturday, 9 to noon, January to the end of March, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, in the Fellowship Hall. Come check us out.
CreativeMornings Shenandoah Valley Anniversary Party
Saturday, January 20th from 6-9PM CreativeMornings Shenandoah Valley is hosting their One Year Anniversary Party at Silver Line Theater Exchange. Tickets are $45 and include admission, food, and dancing. This event is to help raise funds needed for 2024! Attendees can shop local artists, grab new CreativeMornings swag and enjoy some birthday cake! Monday Night Contra Dance
Monday, January 8th Verona Community Center will be hosting Monday night Contra Dance – No experience is necessary, and attendees do not have to bring a partner, but can also bring a crew. There will be a brief beginner workshop held at 6:45 pm and then dancing begins from 7 pm to 9 pm. Music is by Bill Wellington and friends.
