Sunday, June 16th from 9AM-5PM is African American History Day at the Frontier Culture Museum. This event is a celebration of the many influences that Africans and African Americans have had on American culture with demonstrations including cooking, music, and more. Thursday, June 13th from 6:30-8 pm the SWAG Writers Present Open Mic Night at the SolArt Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local writers and authors in a casual, supportive atmosphere. Prospective participants should bring 5 minutes of poetry or prose to share, or just show up to listen. All are welcome! Coffee, tea, and soft drinks will be available.
