Do you have talent? The Off Center is seeking performers, puppetry artists, and story-tellers for Their 2025 Season. Creative, bold, and collaborative adults are sought to join their ensemble for one or more of their productions this year. No puppetry experience required. They consider each piece an opportunity to experiment and redefine, so willingness to explore is more important than resumé. Anything could happen and a $10 cover gets you an all-access pass to the madness where *you* decide who the winner is. Doors and drinks at 6:30, show starts at 7:30! What style of improv will you see? It’s called Gorilla Theatre: a dynamic improv form where participants engage in unscripted scenes with minimal setup, relying on instinct and bold choices to drive the action forward. You, the audience, get to vote whether the scene was successful by awarding them a banana, or by punishing them with a forfeit. Only one improviser will be awarded the winner of our show!

Three Notch’d Road: If Music Be the Food of Love

For Valentine’s Day, Three Notch’d Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble celebrates love in its many forms through early Italian pastoral drama and songs from the British Isles. Mezzo soprano Kim Leeds and soprano Sheila Dietrich are joined by period instrumentalists in a program of passion-filled laments, transcendent airs, and joyous dances reflecting on love in the Baroque.  The program, led by historical clarinetist and guest artistic director Dominic Giardino, will include selections from Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans and Handel’s Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne and works by Antonio Caldara and Henry Purcell. Emily Brontë, Teenage Necromancer

An all-Valley high school show at Silver Line Theatre Exchange 1835. Northern England. The moors. A terrifying phantom has appeared at the Roe Head School for Girls, terrorizing its students and driving the school near to extinction. It’s up to star pupil Emily Brontë, and her sisters Anne and Charlotte, to discern the true nature of the haunting, using their unique talents—which happen to include necromancy. A gothic, hilarious ride through English literature that needs magic, ghosts, and fog, featuring an undead goose, a lovesick ghost, and a talking meat pudding.

Create A Tulip Vase With A Hydroponic Tulip Bouquet

Staunton Clayground is hosting A One-Day Handbuilding Workshop: Create A Tulip Vase With A Hydroponic Tulip Bouquet. Get ready for the profusion of spring tulips by creating a vase specially designed around the graceful curve of tulip stems. Over the course of 3 hours, through a combination of slab and sculpture, you will build and decorate your creation with handmade flower motifs. You will choose a glaze color from several options, and pick up your glazed and fired vase, complete with tulips, in time for Valentines Day! Erin Wright of Quince & Burdock will be on hand at vase pick-up to provide you with your bouquet, talk about tulip care and answer questions about hydroponic gardening. You can sign up for one of three workshops: Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2:30–5:30 pm Tuesday evening, January 28, 5:30–8:30 pm Wednesday morning, January 29, 9:00 am–12:00 noon
