Stop by the taproom on Valentine’s Day weekend for a match made in heaven – Cider and Chocolate! Their expert cider maker and talented bartenders have joined forces with Laurie’s Chocolates to bring you the perfect pairing experience. Try five ciders paired with five chocolates anytime all weekend long – and if you can’t resist coming back for a second (or third or fourth) pairing they won’t judge! QCMS House Concert Series: Tim May and Steve Smith
The Tim May and Steve Smith duo brings an evening of original, traditional and swing music with mandolinist/vocalist Steve Smith and Nashville guitarist/vocalist Tim May. The Nashville based duo has collaborated in studio and on stages nationwide and now bring their acoustic brand of fire on the strings to your town. Smith and May originally met while on staff at Camp Bluegrass in Levelland, Texas and quickly discovered many common musical threads for exploration honoring tradition and improvisation. Their latest CD The Hillsboro Hay Incident is slated for a January ’24 release. A collection of all original instrumentals from Old-Time to Latin Jazz and featuring Tony Trischka, Shad Cobb among many others. A Tribute to the Carter Family (Sept. ‘20) followed on the heels of Murder of Crows and the acclaimed Tim May and Steve Smith CD. All of the recordings reflect upon this acoustic music force the duo has become and includes original and traditional works. Their shows include tight vocal harmonies, dazzling guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin and twin mandolin works throughout a broad range of styles. Story Time & Paint-Your-Own Ceramic Valentine’s Heart
Saturday, February 8th from 1:00-2:30 The Book Dragon is hosting Story Time & Paint-Your-Own Ceramic Valentine’s Heart Calling all kids ages 5 and up! Come and paint your own handmade Valentine’s Heart at the Book Dragon. Join them for a themed story time and a chance to decorate a clay ornament in the shape of a heart, handmade for you by the Staunton Clayground pottery studio! Parents can browse the shelves while they wait. Valentine’s Hearts will be ready to take home at the end of the session, and kids can collect a treat on their way out the door!
